Colin Elliot Producer
This is the control room of Yellow Arch, my studio in Sheffield. Most of my work is done from here. I look for interesting and original artists to work with, and spend as long as necessary trying to understand what it is they want to get across. I like to pay attention to lyrics, assist with song structure and feel, and get the best out of the players and the songs. I can find appropriate musicians, guide and control the recording process, and mix. I like to work closely with my artists, so many of my productions are listed as co-productions. I also remix for radio, adding extra instrumentation and restructuring a song where it's needed. I play bass, double bass, keyboards and percussion, and occassionally guitar and cello. I help arrange and sing backing vocals, arrange and conduct strings and brass, and stay involved right through to the mastering stage.
